Connells Land and Planning secures major land disposal instruction in the East Midlands

14 September 2010

Connells Land & Planning Division today announced a multi-million pound land instruction from Capel House Property Trust Limited to manage the sale of land in North-East Daventry, Northamptonshire.

Connells will bring Monksmoor Farm, a 125-acre development opportunity with planning permission approved by the Secretary of State for up to 1,000 new homes including 350 affordable homes, to market in September 2010.

The site will be a socially and environmentally-sympathetic development in a key economic growth area of the UK. Monksmoor Farm will create numerous jobs for the construction industry as well as important commercial benefits for East Midlands businesses.

Connells Land Director Matthew Oliver says, “This is a significant development opportunity that we believe will appeal strongly to a consortia of house builders and Housing Associations. Not only will it introduce a much-needed boost for first-time buyers and key workers by easing the shortage of private and affordable local housing, it will also create an attractive and sustainable living environment that is well served with open spaces, essential services and transport links.

“This instruction clearly demonstrates that Connells Land and Planning Division has the expertise and experience to satisfy the complex requirements that the UK’s largest landowners demand in today’s challenging market,” Matthew continues.

Connells Land & Planning Division made a strong start to 2010, announcing deals worth an additional £40million in the first quarter alone. These range from standard land acquisitions and disposals to complex development deals brokered between large national housebuilders, housing associations and private landowners.

“The Daventry instruction from Capel House Property Trust Limited is further proof of how we add significant value for our customers at every level of a major land deal – even in the toughest market conditions,” says Matthew.
