Increasing numbers looking to move in 2018, says Connells

A busy start to the year
The housing market has got off to a flying start according to local estate agency Connells. The branch has seen increased demand from buyers since the start of the year and recently recorded 11 buyers for each new property coming onto the market.* Connells suggests sellers should place their homes on the market now and take advantage of the heightened competition for properties:
“Activity levels across the local market are currently high and we have seen a significant hike in the number of motivated buyers entering the market and registering their interest in a new home,” says David Plumtree, Connells Group Estate Agency Chief Executive. “This is particularly encouraging when we consider the time of year – a new year typically gets busier as the weeks progress, but it has been all systems go since the start of the year for our office.
“With increased competition amongst buyers vying for homes available to buy, we need more homes to sell to satisfy this growing demand from buyers,” continues David. “It’s a seller’s market right now and anyone looking to move would do well to get their property on the market while there is heightened buyer interest and ahead of the usual spring rush.”
