Housing market set to bloom this spring, says Connells
Local estate agency Connells is encouraging homeowners thinking of moving to get their property prepared now to make the most of a seasonal surge in activity, with Rightmove recently confirming March as the best time of year for prospective sellers to come to market*.
The UK’s biggest property search site has reported that ‘March is the month when the highest number of buyers are enquiring about each property available on average’. Rightmove’s study also showed that more properties are currently finding buyers (three quarters now successfully finding buyers, compared to half of homes historically) and that homes are now finding buyers faster than before – in an average of 39 days, compared to an average of 59 days over the past 5 years.
“With longer, lighter days and better weather around the corner, we’re expecting the property market to warm up too,” says David Plumtree, Group Estate Agency Chief Executive of Connells’s parent company Connells Group. “March has always been a great time for to sell a house, and this year looks to be no different. The property market is already busy, so anyone wishing to sell their home this year should think seriously about getting it on the market soon to make the most of the increased buyer activity in March and give their property the best chance to sell.
“If you’re thinking of moving, we would recommend having a spring spruce up and ensuring that your property is looking its best to go onto the market,” continues David. “This will attract more buyers and ensure you achieve the best price possible for your home when it is sold. If you would like to see how we can help you make the most of the seasonal surge in activity, don’t hesitate to contact us or pop into our branch to see how we can assist.”
If you have a property to sell and would like to arrange a free market appraisal on your home, please contact your local Connells branch.
