Traditionally, the festive period is one of the busiest times of the year for online property searches, and local estate agency [!Brand] is urging homeowners to get their home on the market now to take full advantage of this seasonal surge.

Each year, leading property websites record a significant uptick in activity during the Christmas holidays, when many prospective buyers are making their plans for the forthcoming year. Data from popular websites Rightmove and Zoopla show that Rightmove received over 16 million visits alone in the festive break last year, and Zoopla registered 45% more site visits between 19th December 2019 and 4th January 2020.*

“Sellers who are planning a new year move shouldn’t wait to make plans, but should consider getting their property on the market now ready for the seasonal rush,” says David Plumtree, Group Estate Agency Chief Executive. “With such a high number of buyers searching for a new home over the holidays, it is generally regarded as one of the most opportune periods of the year, and we fully expect this to continue. This Christmas may even exceed expectations given the unusual year that we’ve had spending more of our time at home than ever before, which in turn, has fuelled a desire for many to consider other options.”
